Rolling mill 1
 
The liquid steel solidify into conti-cast blooms that are subsequently hot-rolled in two separate rolling mills, one for high-grade steel and the other for reinforcing steel.

The rolling mill 1 is dedicated to the production of re-bars. The blooms go from the continuous casting machine without significant loss of heat directly to the pusher-type furnace where they are brought to the ideal temperature for rolling with considerable energy saving. In the last rolling stand the characteristic ribs with the distinguishing LSW mark are applied to the bars by means of an engraved box pass. The quenched rolled strand proceeds then to the cooling bed. The last production stage consists in the cutting to length and bundling of the bars.

Rolling mill 2

In the rolling mill 2 high-quality steel bars for the car industry and mechanical engineering are produced.
The blooms are heated up in a walking beam furnace to a temperature between 1,000 and 1,200° C. After the high pressure descaling of the surface they are hot-rolled to reach the desired nominal diameters. High-precision laser optical controls check that very strict tolerances are not exceeded.
On the cooling bed the hot-rolled bars are laid down to be specifically rolled over under control.
