Melting

The Lech-Stahlwerke GmbH produces high-grade and reinforcing steel. By means of two electric arc furnaces iron scrap is melt down into steel. The capacity of the two furnaces is of about 100 tons. The tapping (elliptical bottom tapping or EBT) takes place from the bottom of the furnace and is completely slag free.
